Transcultural Psychosocial Organisation Testimonial Therapy Ceremony 18 January 2018

This series is from a day spent at testimonial therapy ceremony for survivors of the Khmer Rouge with TPO Transcultural Psychosocial Organisation at Ta Ann village, Ta Ann commune, Kralanh district, Siem Reap province Cambodia.

The day was a culmination of five days of therapy provided by TPO staff for the survivors themselves, as well as the wider community who in all too regular fashion are not necessarily aware of what happened in the country in the years 1975-79.

Not having received any form of therapy to counter such long-held grief before, the six survivors were able to talk about and shed at least some of the emotional wounds that they have lived with for almost forty years.

On this project I also worked with Jake Day, Jim O'Reilly and Kate Ryan.
